Coldplay-Sänger Chris Martin: großer Fan von A-Ha

London - Chris Martin, Sänger der britischen Band Coldplay, hat sich als Fan der norwegischen Pop-Gruppe "A-Ha" geoutet.
Wie der britischen Radiosender "Virgin Radio" berichtet, könne Martin gar nicht genug von der Band bekommen. Martin sagte: "Die erste Band, die ich jemals geliebt habe, war 'A-Ha'." Außerdem bewundere Martin den "A-Ha"-Sänger Morton Hacket für seine Musik und seine Outfits. Martin dazu: "Morton ist der umwerfendste und attraktivste Mann, dem man je begegnet."
Das neue Album "X&Y" der britischen Band Coldplay steht ab dem 06. Juni in den Verkaufsregalen. Die Single "Speed of Sound" kommt am 23. Mai in die Läden (Fan-Lexikon berichtete).
"X&Y" ist seit drei Jahren wieder das erste Studioalbum von Coldplay. Laut Sänger Chris Martin ging es nicht schneller, ein neues Album zu veröffentlichen. Er teilte vergangenen März mit, dass viele ursprüngliche Songs der Band nicht mehr gefallen hätten. Daher hätten die Aufnahmen noch einmal von vorne beginnen müssen (Fan-Lexikon berichtete).
Coldplay heavily influenced by Norwegian pop group A-Ha
Chris Martin has revealed Coldplay have been heavily influenced by Norwegian pop group A-Ha.
The frontman, who is about to release the band's third album, said he had recently rediscovered the band, who shot to fame in the 80s with hits such as 'Living Daylights' and 'Take On Me.'
The singer revealed to Britain's Virgin Radio: "I found myself in Amsterdam the other day and I put A-Ha's first record on. I just remembered how much I loved it. It's incredible songwriting."
"Everybody asks what inspired us, what we've been trying to steal from and what we listened to when we were gowning up "The first band I ever loved was A-Ha - I just thought I'd mention them."
Martin, who is married to Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow, also said he's a big fan of A-Ha's Morton Hacket for his looks as well as his music.
The 'Scientist' star said: "Morton is the most disarmingly handsome man you will ever meet."
Yesterday, it was revealed that Martin contemplated killing himself to ensure the success of their new album.
He quipped: "Commercially it would be a great idea to blow my head off."
